Pastor Dave Martin
Pastor Dave Martin is a follower of Christ who has served in ministry most of his life. He is devoted to studying and preaching the Word of God. He knows that God's love, grace, and truth transform people and in turn, communities. Prevailing culture does not sway him, but rather, he is moved by what God says in His Word.
Family and Ministry
In 1991 he married the girl next door, Teresa. Together, they followed God's leading and served in various volunteer and staff ministry positions. They have four children: Andrew, Michael, Ashley, and Daniel. The Martin family has grown to include a daughter-in-law and son-in-law, plus five adorable grand-babies. They love living on Puget Island in the community that they serve.
Also, in 1991, Pastor Dave graduated from Masters University in Newell, CA, and received a degree in Biblical Studies. He began his ministry career, serving as a youth pastor. Through his experience, he identified the purpose of youth group- to help the students become fully functioning Christian adults. Dave penned his expertise and wisdom gleaned in his first book, What I've Learned in 25 Years of Youth Ministry. Then he wrote a second book called, A Baptist Bar Mitzvah expanding the concept he created as an intentional strategy to help parents move their thirteen year old adolescents into adulthood through the high school years. His most recent book is entitled, The Second Most Important Decision You Will Ever Make: Helping Single Christians find a Lifetime Worthy Spouse. In addition, Dave presently serves as a chaplain for the Wahkiakum County Sheriff Department.
Pastor of Heritage Bible Church
In 2014, Dave and his wife accepted God's calling to serve in Cathlamet, Washington, at Heritage Bible Church where Dave received the position as Senior Pastor. They are both dedicated to serving Wahkiakum County with the love, grace, and truth of the gospel.
On most Sundays, Dave wears a tie and a button-up shirt, except the fifth Sunday of the month, when he dons his jeans and trademark plaid shirt. Dave is a regular guy who does yard work, hunts, enjoys sports, loves his family, and is always willing to stop what he is doing and tell you about God's plan of Salvation.
Dave and his wife Teresa have a singleness of heart to serve Christ in their generation and leave a legacy for others to follow.
